Latent heat
All parties, during their fusion, absorb a heat quantity absolutely insensitive in contact with the thermometer, so for this reason it is called latent heat. Try to imagine a body at a temperature that can not receive the heat without one of its part getting in fusion; afterwards imagine this body can be exhibited to fire action and combined with a lot of heat in order to be founded upon measure, without letting the temperature increase sensitively.
