Refrigeration
Its ability is to favour the insolubility of fusel-oil in order to separate them through filtration. To execute this operation cooling appliances are used and in particular the condenser and the refrigerator are placed one after the other.
In the first place the alcoholic steams are liquefied and retrograded in the distillation column. Secondly there is the liquefaction of the residual steams escaping from the condenser and the complete cooling of the more volatile steam: the heads. In the production of distillates, refrigeration is achieved also through a refrigeration installation that drops the temperature below zero (between -10° and -20°) for at least 48 hours, so then to filter it through a separator able to retain the insoluble oils.
